i bought microsoft street and trips 2009 with GPS locator but the locator does not seem to work, why?
The GPS Locator does not locate the position of where i am at.
I don't own this particular product, but from what I understand about gps locators, the transmitter's (or whatever's) antenna must be positioned in such a way that no metal surfaces (like the roof of the vehicle) or indoor locations (like in a garage) can block the signal to a satellite. I have my antenna installed under my dashboard and the window above it allows the signal to be broadcast to or received by the satellites. If my car is parked in my garage I can't locate it on my computer or on my phone. But if it's in my driveway or anywhere else outdoors I can see where it is right down to the parking space it's in. And if I can locate it I can do all sorts of things, like lock or unlock the doors, disable or enable the starter, see how fast it's going, etc.
